What is a Vision Prepaid Card?

Vision Prepaid Cards provide a smart and cost-effective alternative to checking accounts, carrying cash, paying check cashing fees, or credit cards. You add your own money and only spend what you load on it. There’s no credit check or bank account required.

How do I start using my Vision Prepaid Card?

When you receive your Vision Prepaid Card in the mail, call the phone number on the sticker placed on the front of the card or visit my.visionprepaid.com to activate it. Then you must add money to your card via direct deposit or at a retail location to use it.

How does it work?

Load it with the cash amount you choose and enjoy the power of the Visa brand. You can use it to make purchases and pay bills anywhere Visa Debit cards are accepted, including in stores, online or over the phone. Each time you use your card, the purchase amount is automatically deducted from your card balance.

Where can I use my card?

You can use your card online, over the phone and at the millions of places that accept Visa debit cards - including supermarkets, pharmacies, clothing stores, drug stores, and more.

How do I set up my online account?

First, go to my.visionprepaid.com and click on Account Login.

The secure account login page will appear. Click on "Sign Up" under "First Time Users".

Fill out your information and submit. Then log in using your new username and password.

In your online account, you can:

  • View your statements, transactions & balance information
  • Set up text and email account alerts
  • Transfer money
  • Set up a secondary card account
  • View and print your Direct Deposit information
  • And more...

How can I start my SMS and email alerts?

First, log in to your online account at my.visionprepaid.com. Next, click on "Alerts" under Account Management.

Make sure that your email and mobile phone are correct. You can also choose when you would like your alerts to begin and end each day, and set your time zone.

Scroll down and check the boxes of the Alerts you would like to receive and whether you would like to receive them via Email or Text message.

We recommend three alerts:

  1. Daily Balance - Sends you your balance each day so you know how much money you have.
  2. Authorization - Shows you detail for each purchase transaction after it is made.
  3. Payment Posted - Alerts you when and how much money has been added to your card via Direct Deposit or a retail location.

Don't forget to click the "update" button to save your new settings. With account alerts sent to your mobile phone or email, you'll always know your balance and be in control of your money.

Can I get my paychecks or other checks direct deposited to my Vision Prepaid Card?

Yes, and you will get your paycheck or government benefits checks faster. With Direct Deposit, your checks are on the card on payday.

Setting up Direct Deposit is easy. Simply log in to your online cardholder account and go to the Direct Deposit option under "Add Cash" in the upper left hand corner. Click the option to print your information or write down your numbers and provide to your payroll or benefits provider.

You can also use the direct deposit form that came with your card in the mail. It looks like a check. Just give it to your payroll or benefits provider and your direct deposit should appear in 1 to 2 pay cycles.

Is my money safe on the card?

Yes. Your money on the card is safer than carrying cash. The card is issued by The Bancorp Bank; member FDIC, and cardholders deposits are FDIC insured up to $250,000. Plus you are also protected against unauthorized purchases if your card is ever lost or stolen with the Visa Zero Liability policy**.

Can I use ATMs?

Yes. To get cash at the ATM, insert your card into the machine and enter your PIN. Select "checking" to make a withdrawal and enter the amount of cash you want to withdraw. Then take your cash, card, and receipt to keep track of your balance. To avoid ATM fees can also get cash back after making purchases.

Can I pay bills with this card?

Yes. Pay any bill online or over the phone with your card. It’s a great way to save on money orders, stamps, bill pay fees and more. Plus, you save time. You can use the online tool that lets you send one-time or recurring payments electronically or by paper check to anyone in the United States, or you can pay a biller directly.

Are there fees?

There are only 3 Fees on the Vision Premier Card with Direct Deposit set up. You can view the fees for the Vision Preferred Card here.

How much can I spend on a Vision Prepaid Card each day?

You can spend up to $2,500.00 per day.

How can I get my account balance or a statement?

You may access your available balance anytime for free by accessing your Card Account online or by calling 1-800-207-1805. Statements in electronic format will be made available free of charge at my.visionprepaid.com. You will not automatically receive paper statements. You may choose to have a paper statement mailed to you by contacting us each time at 1-800-207-1805.

Also, we offer free email and text balance and account alerts. You can sign up for these anytime by calling 1-800-207-1805 or signing up at my.visionprepaid.com.

Savings Account

How do I enroll in the Savings program?

Follow these easy steps to open a Savings account:

  1. Log in to your cardholder account.
  2. Select "Enroll in Savings" in the Card Management Menu.
  3. Follow the prompts to review Terms and Conditions and make your opening transfer deposit.

Be sure to click on "Complete Enrollment" button to complete your opening transfer.

Note: You must have an active Vision Prepaid Card account to open a Savings account.

Are there any fees to open and maintain a Savings account?

No, it is free to open an account and there are no additional account fees.

Is there a minimum deposit to open an account?

Yes, a minimum of $10.00 must be transferred from your Primary Account to open a Savings Account.

How do I transfer money into and out of my Savings account?
  1. Log in to your cardholder account.
  2. Select "Savings Account" in the Card Management Menu
  3. Click on the "Transfer Funds" link in the Manage Account Menu. You also have the option to set up an automatic transfer amount.
  4. Enter the amount you would like to transfer and click submit. You have the option to transfer money from your Primary Account to your Savings Account or from Savings to your Primary Account.
  5. You will see a "Transfer Completed Successfully" message.

Note: In order to use funds in your Savings Account they must be transferred back to your Primary Account.

Are there limits to deposits or withdrawals?

There is a limit of 6 withdrawals per month from Savings to the Primary Account. There are no limits to the number of monthly transfers from the Primary Account to Savings. The minimum transfer amount from the Primary Account to the Savings Account is $10.00.

Is there a minimum or maximum balance?

After the initial transfer of $10.00 there is a $0.01 minimum balance requirement to earn interest on the Savings Account. The maximum balance on the Savings Account is $1,000. The maximum balance on the Primary Account is $2,500 for a combined maximum balance of $3,500.

How do I know what my balance is?
  1. Log in to your cardholder account.
  2. Select "Transaction View" in the Card Management Menu
  3. Select Savings Account in the drop-down to view.

You will be able to see the total Available Balance and the transfer details below.

You can also access a monthly Savings Account Statement by simply clicking on the "E-Statement" link along the left hand side of your cardholder account, then choose the month you wish to view from the drop down box.

What is the interest rate and when are interest earnings paid out?

The interest rate is 5.5% with an APY of 5.65%. Interest earnings are paid out quarterly and generally post within two weeks after the end of a calendar quarter.

What is Direct Deposit?

Direct Deposit to your Vision Prepaid Card lets employers or the government automatically deposit your pay or benefits directly into your Vision Prepaid Card account. The electronic payments are reliable, secure, and your paychecks are waiting for you when you wake up on payday. The best part is, there’s no more standing in line or paying fees to cash your check.

How do I set up Direct Deposit?

How many checks can I Direct Deposit to my Vision Prepaid Card?

You may Direct Deposit as many eligible checks as you like. There is no limit to the number of checks you can add. If you have two jobs, switch jobs or receive government benefits, get them all Direct Deposited to your Vision Prepaid Card.

When will money be available?

If you have enrolled for Direct Deposit on your Vision Prepaid Card, your money is immediately available on your payday, ready for you to pay bills, shop, or transfer to another card. Direct Deposit to The Vision Prepaid Card is safe, convenient, and gives you freedom from standing in line and paying to cash your checks.

How long does it take before a new Direct Deposit starts on Vision Prepaid Card Account?

It generally takes 1 to 2 pay periods for Direct Deposit to become active on your prepaid card. After the first time, your checks will automatically deposit to your card account and be ready immediately on payday.

How do I know if money was deposited to my Vision Prepaid Card account?

Access your Vision Prepaid Card account online 24 hours a day at my.visionprepaid.com. After you log in to your account, you can check your balance and view your spending. Even better, sign up to receive your balance information through our free email or SMS text alert*** service. With alerts, you can be notified by email or SMS anytime there is a deposit to your prepaid debit card account.

Can I use Direct Deposit for tax refunds or other one-time deposits?

Yes. Funds from your Federal or State income tax refund or other one-time payments from institutions can be deposited directly onto your Vision Prepaid Card. It’s easy - just provide the institution with your prepaid card routing and account number. You can access this information by logging in to your online account.

Bill Pay

Can I pay bills with my Vision Prepaid Card?

Yes and it’s free. Pay any bill online or over the phone with your card. It’s a great way to save on money orders, stamps, bill pay fees and more. Plus, you save time. To see if a biller participates, consult the Biller Directory and from there, you can link to the biller’s site. You must contact billers directly to pay a bill with your Visa card.

How do I make a bill payment?

You can pay a biller directly by calling them or visiting their online bill pay system. Visit our Online Bill Pay Center located on the cardholder website for useful tools and tips including a Biller Directory where you can access thousands of billers instantly and see a step-by-step tutorial on how to pay bills online. You can also send a paper check to anyone from your card for free via your cardholder account. Pay your rent, car payment, insurance, cable or electricity bill - online 24/7.

Can I pay all of my bills with my Vision Prepaid Card?

You can pay bills to any biller that accepts Visa debit cards. Check the Biller Directory to find participating billers. You may also send a check from your card account at my.visionprepaid.com.

How often can I schedule recurring payments from my prepaid Vision Prepaid Card?

A monthly recurring bill payment is the most-used option. Other scheduling options include daily, quarterly or yearly.

What if my biller does not accept Visa cards?

You can send a paper check to anyone in the United States from your card for free via your cardholder account. Once you have logged into your account, click on "Bill Pay" under "Send Cash". Go to "Add Biller" and follow instructions to add the biller manually. Once your biller is added, you can schedule a "Single Payment" or "Multiple Payments".

How much does it cost to pay bills with my Vision Prepaid Card?

Paying bills with your Vision Visa Prepaid Card is free. Some service providers may charge a fee for processing a bill payment with a Visa card.

How can I confirm that a payment has been sent?

That’s easy too. Just log into your account. If you are paying a biller directly, click on "Transaction View" under Card Management. Under "Authorization Detail" you can see the date, amount debited, and the transaction detail for each payment made. You also have an option to print your Transaction History here. If you are using the online check service, go to "Bill Pay" under "Send Cash", then confirm a payment by selecting "Recent Payments" or "Payment Activity."

Which billers accept Visa for bill payment?

Many national and local billers and service providers accept Visa for bill payment, including:

  • Phone companies
  • Cable/Satellite TV providers
  • Insurance companies
  • Utility companies
  • Security companies
  • Newspapers
  • Gyms
  • And much more...

What information might a biller request?

Each biller is different but they generally ask for the following information:

  • Biller account number
  • Visa card number
  • Expiration date
  • Date you want to be charged
  • Amount you authorize to be charged (for one-time bill payment)

How do I add money?

The best way to add money to your card is through the direct deposit of your paychecks, tax refunds, or government benefits checks like social security or other payments. You can also add cash at thousands of locations nationwide. Go to any MoneyGram®, Western Union®, Visa ReadyLink® or PreCash® location.

How can I find a place to add cash to my Vision Prepaid Card?

With over 100,000 locations nationwide, it's easy to load your prepaid Vision Prepaid Card with cash. Simply call 1-800-207-1805 or click here to find a retail location near you. Next, bring your card and cash to the retail location for a quick addition to your prepaid account - that’s it! Please note, retailer may charge a fee to reload your card.

How much and how often can I add cash at a retail location with my Vision Prepaid Card account?

Typically, you can load your card up to two times per day with a maximum balance of $2,500.00. Funds loaded via Direct Deposit are not subject to the maximum value load.

  • If you reload your Card at a Western Union location, the maximum amount you can load is $950.00. With Western Union, you are limited to ten (10) loads per calendar month.
  • The maximum amount of all other options is $999.00.

How do I know my money is added correctly to my Vision Prepaid Card?

The store location should provide you with a receipt or reference number for your cash deposit. Please save this receipt. You can also see your balance information by logging in to your online account at my.visionprepaid.com. While you're there, don't forget to sign up for FREE SMS text alerts***. With alerts, you get messages sent to your email of mobile phone. You always know your balance and when money is deposited to your account.

How many times can I add money to my card in a day?

The maximum number of times you may load your Card per day is two (2). The amount of money you can add with Direct Deposit is not limited to a minimum or maximum amount.

How do I add money at a Moneygram location?

You need to complete the Moneygram Blue Express Payment form with the following information:

  1. Use Receive Code: 6015
  2. Company Name: The Vision Visa Prepaid Card
  3. City: Houston
  4. State: Texas
  5. Enter your 16 digit card number under "Account Number"
  6. Enter the amount of cash you want to load to your Vision Prepaid Card under "Payment Amount". Minimum Amount is $20 and the maximum amount is $999

Provide the agent with cash for your deposit and for the Moneygram fee. Keep the receipt with the reference number that confirms your transaction. Funds will post to your account within 1 hour or less.

How do I add money at a Western Union location?

You will need to complete the grey Western Union Prepaid Services form with the following information:

  1. Enter your 16 digit card number under "Account Number"
  2. Pay to: Vision Prepaid Card
  3. Enter the amount of cash you want to load to your Vision Prepaid Card under "Payment Amount". Minimum Amount is $20 and the maximum amount is $950

Provide the agent with cash for your load amount and for the Western Union fee. Keep the receipt with the reference number that confirms your transaction. Funds will post to your account within 1 hour or less.

How do I add money at a PreCash location?

You will need to give you card to the PreCash associate. They will swipe it or enter the 16-digit account number on the front of your card. Provide the associate with cash for your load amount and load fee. The minimum load is $20 and the maximum load is $999. Keep the receipt with the reference number that confirms your transaction. Funds will post to your account within 1 hour or less.

How do I add money with a REloadit pack?

Go to any participating REloadit retailer and take the REloadit pack to the register. Add any amount from $20 to $950 at checkout. A reload fee of up to $3.95 will be added to your purchase. Then visit www.reloadit.com or call 888-633-9434 and provide your REloadit pack number to send money to your card. Funds will post to your account within 1 hour or less. The Visa Zero Liability policy lets you shop anywhere with no risk. It means your will not be held responsible for fraudulent charges made with your card or account information.**

How it works

    Use your Visa credit or debit card to make purchases at millions of locations. Visa will always protect you from unauthorized use.
  2. Report suspicious charges
    Review your monthly statement and report any fraudulent charges to your financial institution.
  3. Get quick resolution and provisional credit.

If applicable, your financial institution may remove fraudulent credit card transactions or extend provisional credit for losses from unauthorized card use.

Card-To-Card Transfer

How do I transfer cash to family or friends who have a Vision Prepaid Card?

Card-to-card transfers are the quickest, easiest, most secure way to send cash to a friend or family member’s Vision Prepaid Card. It’s Free. Simply log into your online account and choose an existing Buddy or family member, or enter the required information to send to a new Buddy. Next, enter the amount of money that you would like to transfer. That’s it!

How much money and how often can I transfer to a family member or friend with a Vision Prepaid Card?

You can transfer up to $500.00 per transaction to another Vision Prepaid Card. You can send up to four transactions in a 30 day period. The most you can send in a 30 day period is $2,000.00. You can do one transfer a day.

Can I transfer money from my card to a bank account?

Yes. Transfer money from your card to the bank account of your choice. Funds go directly to the bank account, and it’s FREE to you.
